Senegal-Part 1 2023

Grateful for these moments to create new experiences with my family and more stories to tell.

To travel to a continent that is the root of my DNA, backbone of my Caribbean culture was something I didn’t expect to come so soon in my life. It was an unplanned coincidence that I made happen during Black History Month.

I was able to learn things I never learned in school like what makes a place a “third world country” not caused by its own doing. I was able to see the other side of what was taught as truth with my own eyes to come to my own conclusion.

Outside of the MANY problems that do exist and look similar to the ones of where I come from, there was so much beauty in Senegal. It was just problems of a different color.
